Our Custom Design Process

The beauty of custom design is that you can create a jewellery item that is exactly what you want, something that represents your own unique style. You can design your own necklace, create your own bracelet or build a bespoke engagement ring from scratch. Our jewellers are designers, engineers, and gemologists all in one and we are here to bring your vision to life.

Design Consultation

Book your free consultation with one of our jewellery designers to plan the perfect engagement ring (or other piece). The initial consultation can be in-store or virtually, by video call. We will explore your preferences in jewellery styles, metal options, budget and stone choices as well as provide you with possibilities, design suggestions and visual examples.

Once you are happy with the design and ready to start the process, we require a 40% non-refundable deposit.

Sourcing of Diamonds & Gemstones

We responsibly source gemstones just for you based on your design, ethics, desired quality and budget. During a follow-up consultation, we can provide you with diamonds and gemstones sourced within your budget. You will get to see, feel, and hand-select the stone you wish to use in your piece. If you have inherited stones, we can happily work with your stones as well.

Sketching, Computer Rendering & 3D Printing

We’ll take all of your inspiration, ideas, and specifications and sketch a 3D CAD design. Custom jewellery creations often require a very high level of intricacy. Computer designing and 3D cad printing allows us to create pieces that require very specific design, materials and dimensions. Special 3D printers are used to print resin replicas of the design, which is then cast in precious metal. One of the benefits of CAD is that we can share the 3D design rendering with you during the process so that changes can be made before the piece is cast. During the designing phase, we aim to maintain durability, structural integrity whilst staying within your budget.

Production

Once the resin mould has been printed, it is cured and then cast in gold (or metal of choice). The jewellery piece is then worked off by hand and prepared for the delicate work of setting the stones. Once the stones have been set, the jewellery is polished and plated to give it that beautiful shine.

Collection or Delivery

Once your piece is ready for collection, you can either collect at our store or we can have your jewellery delivered to you. Ideally, we will have a final consultation to discuss the care and cleaning of the piece, provide an appraisal, insurance information and documentation on stones. To ensure you’re your jewellery remains in good condition, it is important to have you jewellery cleaned and inspected annually.
